Sorry but screw you

Photographic film, 4mn (2023)

Supersun is a collective of rappers made up of women and non-binary people. They organize self-managed artistic residencies; the first one took place in October 2022 in Maine-et-Loire, a French countryside.

The strength of this collective experience, lived behind closed doors in a farmhouse, helped to legitimize their right to express themselves. Rap, in its practice of writing and performance, allows a transition from intimacy to politics. Their texts are sometimes raw and violent, as they echo the gender violence they suffered and they now denounced. “For too long we have apologized for our lives, if we replaced all our sorry, excuse me, with screw you, that’s all and that’s how it is” (Supersun, 2023)
